Many other useful Colors (Pigments!) will be discussed during the Class/Workshop
Always best to use a Limited Palette to become adept at color mixing! Additional Colors usually determined by your personal style, technique and subject matter, etc.
Best to avoid student grades, though they seem cheaperit's only because you are getting far less pigment, more oil and a lot of filler!

If buying new brushes in KC and unsure, try
Essex Green Handles at Coldsnows.
Robert Simmons Series 40 and 41 are classically elegant and good buys, too.
Both Utrecht cheaper and pricier white bristles are brushes I will NEVER spend money on again!!!
If your brushes are in poor condition, splayed, and/or with dried paint in them, purchase Winsor-Newtons' brush cleaner/reconditioner in the red and white label. It works excellently at cleaning suffering brushes. You will need to soak them for several to over 24 hours in many cases. Wash briskly with soap and water. Dry laying horizontally. See notes on brushes at Writings / Oil for other conditioning and refurbishing techniques.
